Baja Spain: The second leg being the hardest for the cars

There have been lots of surprises at today’s journey of the Baja’06 where the most outstanding riders have abandoned and an unexpected one became leader thanks to his regularity: Jozel Sykora. On the second place is now Sousa but with a huge distance at the general classifiucation due to the stop of 20 min he hade to make on the forth stretch.
Nissan’s rider, who dominated clearly the race and was supposed to get a great advantage and fight for the victory today, had a problem with the clutch. On today’s special stage Jose Luis Monterde couldn’t ride too due to problems with the motor. Therefore the classification got really different than it was yesterday.
The terrain was really bad, with lots of mud and deep water holes and that’s why the mechanic of the cars has been damaged a lot. Anyway Blazquez and Monterde are going to ride tomorrow but without applying for the final classification.
