Jeep launch ‘07 Wrangler in the Middle East

DaimlerChrysler Middle East has launched the 2007 Jeep Wrangler in the United Arab Emirates. Launching the popular SUV in Dubai, DaimlerChrysler Middle East simultaneously kicked-off a ‘Jeep Roadshow’ that will now cover the rest of the Middle East region.

Starting in Muscat during the first week of April, the Jeep Roadshow will see specially created Jeep tour buses and a team of highly trained staff and drivers covering more than 110,000 kilometres over 110 days, visiting 11 key cities in 10 countries across the Middle East. "We see this as a great way to celebrate the launch and give Jeep enthusiasts the chance to see and experience this exciting new vehicle," said Trent Barcroft, Vice President, DaimlerChrysler Middle East.

For the 2007MY, Jeep has added for the very first time the four-door version of the Wrangler to its range. The company expects the Wrangler Unlimited to provide extended flexibility to Jeep enthusiasts with families. With room for five passengers the Wrangler Unlimited combines off-road capability with everyday practicality.

The new Wrangler range features a 3.8-litre V6 engine making 202bhp and 321Nm of peak torque. The 2-door version is offered with a choice of either the 6-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission. The 4-door on the other hand is mated to a 4-speed auto transmission only.

The Wrangler’s tried and tested five-link solid-axle suspension configuration is standard on both the models, while the coveted removable full-framed or half doors, exposed hinges, fold-down windshield and innovative removable and/or convertible tops have also been retained in the 2007 model-year.
