Libya Rally Raid: Rally started - competitors on the way.

On Saturday the Libya Rally Raid has officially begun. The participants, crew and press all met during the late morning in Genova at the ferry terminal to Tunis. Under a cloudy and cold sky everone was anticipating the journey to Africa. However - the actual departure of the ferry was delayed until deep in the evening. After the cars from Tunesia had left a big crane began unloading ship rescue equipment like inflatable tents. The prodedure lasted and lasted. At the same time some delayed participants were rushing to still reach the ship. Due to the ship maintenance delays fortunately everyone got safely on board and is now heading towards Tunis.
Until Monday the rally convoy will mainly be crossing Tunesia as soon as possible to get to the real destinaion of the rally with its hundreds of meter high dunes and endless sand.
