Por las Pampas: Rodrigues state improves, Casteu transferred to France.

The health condition of Portuguese rider Hélder Rodrigues improved after having an operation at the La Portada Clinica in Antofagasta, Chile.
Rodrigues had a bad fall on the eighth stage of the Por Las Pampas Rally and suffered thoracic and abdominal injuries. First he was transported by helicopter to the Hospital of Tal Tal (Chile) to stabilize his state and have the most important examinations.
Soon turned out that his injuries, especially the abdominal injuries are serious, so he was transferred to La Portada Clinica. He had to undergo an surgery during which his spleen had to be removed. Fortunately, the operation was successful, and the condition of the young Portuguese rider improved a lot in the past hours.
Other victim of stage 8, David Casteu, who crashed with a lorry while crossing a road after a checkpoint, suffered injuries on his right shoulder. The French rider has to be operated, but his condition allowes him to fly back to his home country and undergo the surgery there.
