Rainforest Challenge: First jungle passages are calling.

The second part of the prologue was driven in the same area as the day before.just with other special stages. After that the trophy convoy departed into another transfer drive futher to the north and finally into the long awaited jungle. The events' importance was underlined by the tourism minister partilly joining the convoy in a Land Rover. The convoi was escorted by police cars and motorcycles that insured a fast and safe passage to the destination. Various crossroads were closed down and traffic lights "turned to green" as the convoi passed.

At the evening the convoi finally reached that what the rest of the world would imagine as a real trpocical jungle: high trees, wildly growing green that is almost impassable after several meters and sounds reminding to a Tarzan movie. Still we have not arrived in the middle of nowhere yet. The camp was set up at the beginning of the jungle close to normal streets. On a large clearing tents were set up until late at night and the participants were briefed about the next day. The camps usually consist of various tents made out of two cars from the press or service convoi between which plastic sheets are put. Underneath those everyone is sleeping on camp beds high above the ground. "Put your shoes up on the beds before going to sleep at night and check the inside every morning." is the official order from the organization. The adventure is calling - not only for the participants but also the numerous organization and press members.

So finally on Sunday the "real" Challenge will start with four first stages. Some parts are marked some need to found by navigation.
