| |
|
 | | | In total 26 participants have arrived in Malaysia between Tuesday and Wednesday to join the world's toughest trophy - the Rainforest Challenge. The hotel where the technical scrutineering was held is in the middle of the pulsating Kuala Lumpur just a couple of buildings away from the legendary Petronas Twin Towers.
This year the majority of teams originates from Malaysia followed closely by numerous participants from China, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Out of Europe teams from Poland, Austria, Hungary and Denmark are taking the challenge.
The Rainforest Challenge 2006 will start on Saturday with the prologue in the Northern part of Malaysia. For those racers still having doubts if the whole thing will get tough or not a short view on the timetable gives a good indication. A whole two days are planned for the starter field to manage it through the prologue area. Heavy rain has been falling this year and holes and everything deep is filled with water.
Marathonrally.com is with two correspondants live at the event and will provide - circumstances and a leafless view to the transmission satellite permitting - daily coverage about the Rainforest Challenge in Malaysia
